BEE2 - Beedazzled Album Review

Released via Sound Pipe Records, this new 8-track album that has been produced by the main man himself, Bee2. He is well known for using traditional Punjabi instruments in his composure of music, and the tumbi of course, being the most apparent.

Beehive
is an amazing opening track, sets the entire vibe of the album off on the right foot. Hyper, tumbi filled, intense, with addictive beats. Yo Girl, takes a turn to the folk style bhangra, which questions whether the artist is from the UK or the Punjab as this track is so desi!Uddi Mar is the first track to be associated with a music video, which is currently being aired on most Asian Music channels. Personally, my favourite track off the album, it is one of the strongest tracks on here. The beats, vocals, lyrics, sounds of this song make it a dance-floor filler, no doubt..

Rajwant has a very characteristic Bee2 feel to the track, not one of the best tracks to be produced, but the album has plenty more talent elsewhere. Out The Way is such a misleading track! The first minute or so lead you to believe it’s a sad heart-rending tune, and then the dhol kicks in and it’s a whole different story. It’s a bit of a hype song “Gabru Punjabi Nachde”

Poison Of Love is more of a slower, deep and lyrically concentrated song for all those fans of sad songs. In my opinion, these types of tracks really test an artist’s ability to produce, sing and compose. Bee2 did a good job on this track.

Album closes with Gora Rang, which should hopefully be the next single release off the album (Hint for Bee2 if he is reading this lol) the track has a very traditional feel to it, and plenty of tumbi to match. Jamla ends the album on a very straight up, folk established sound. You just have to hear it to understand and appreciate the meaning.

Beedazzled is a good release from Sound Pipe Records, they also released Taj-E’s debut album last year, who is also incidentally Bee2’s brother. Overall good productions and good vocals, it has to be one of the best albums Bee2 has brought out to date.
